I'm not promoting the movie.
Nor am I promoting the trailer.
I encourage you to save yourself 2.5 minutes and think happy thoughts instead.

Dear Lake Powell,

I am in love with you.

Dear Batting Cages,

Since when did I become a closet softball junkie? I could spend hours - HOURS - at Mulligan's in Murray (and no, that's not the name of a pub in South Jordan).

I'm shopping for a bat.
I MUST get cleats.
And possibly gloves?

I mean, I'm playing on a city league team in the fall. So I need to get the gear, right? Look the part? I mean we all know 80% of enjoying a workout comes from wearing a smart outfit.

I wish I had tried this sport in my youth - because I clearly haven't kept up with the whole cheerleading bit - I could be making the big $$. Trust me, I'm not THAT good, but I'd like to believe with the proper training added to a healthy amount of pressure from my father and coaches, I would have developed into a softball phenom.

PLAY BALL!

Dear Olympic Park,

Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme...who needs Cool Runnings when you can ride an actual bob sled (sans ice; my kind of bob sled).

I went for work and it was a blast. One of the few team building activities I'd recommend.

Next up: the skeleton!

Me and my client contact - she looks super hard core, I was going for the friendly bobsledder look.

The winning team! We came in first, just barely over a minute. I was so excited!

I'm in position 4 (the very back) - it was rough, but awesome!

Dear Urban Retreat Salon & Spa,

Thanks for the facial that was mediocre.
Thanks for the massage that hurt like - - - - but did the trick.
Thanks for the masseuse who was able to multi-task and get a few texts in while she worked out the knots in my neck.
Thanks for not responding to my email re: the awful experience.

As a paying client, I really appreciate all you've (not) done.

XOXO

Dear Self-Evaluation,

It's pretty straight forward...

Dear from the mouth of babes,

I've decided to take my nieces and nephews out on a date when they have a birthday. They get to choose the activity (within a set price range) and I get the chance to spend time with them one-on-one. It's a win-win, but I really feel like I am getting the better end of the deal.

Here are a few of the things that have been said while out on these dates.

Berlin, 4 years old
1) I think I'd rather have a toy than see a movie.
2) Let's go home and play with the toy. I can be Belle, and YOU can be the horse.
3) My mom is going to say, "This toy is awesome. Way to go Berlin!"

Kemry, 5 years old
1) My favorite color is the rainbow...with a little bit of brown.
2) I really need to have ice cream. I'm exhausted.
3) Best! Ice Cream! Ever! (said about a DQ cone dipped in chocolate)

But I think the best part is when I arrive to pick them up. Both these girls shrieked, yelled and giggled with delight. It melts my heart.

So for those of you who are out of state, know that when I see you and your children next I will be making up for lost time; just accept it and know that I will be taking my nieces and nephews out on a date.
